The e-visa is issued through evisa.iq, and there is no in-person step beforehand. The federal e-visa does not automatically cover the Kurdistan Region. Arriving via Erbil (EBL) instead of Baghdad (BGW) or Basra (BSR) means a separate application through the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The confirmation arrives by email, and it is worth having a copy ready for the immigration desk. Submit it ahead of your trip since it is not something you can arrange at the border.
