Do I need a visa for Iraq from Sri Lanka?

Travelling to Iraq on a Sri Lanka passport, you need an e-visa, applied for online before you travel.

The e-visa route runs through evisa.iq, and that is the only step most travelers need. One thing worth knowing: this e-visa covers federal Iraq, meaning Baghdad (BGW) or Basra (BSR). If you are flying into Erbil (EBL) or Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region instead, that is a separate e-visa issued by the regional government, not the federal one.

Have the emailed approval on hand when you arrive; officers check it at passport control. This is a before-you-fly step, not something arranged at the airport.
