What you need to apply

• PassportA passport or travel document valid for the whole of your stay in the UK.
• Application feePaid when you apply online, before your appointment.
• Travel itineraryYour travel dates, where you will stay, and an estimate of what the trip will cost.
• Proof of sufficient fundsYour annual income and how you will support yourself, declared in the online application.
• Evidence of ties to your home countryDepending on your circumstances: your employer's details, your travel history for the past 10 years, or details of anyone sponsoring or hosting your trip.
• Medical examination or certificateA certificate proving you have had a tuberculosis test, if you are staying more than six months and applying from a listed country.
• Biometrics appointmentFingerprints and a photo, taken at your visa application centre appointment.

Any document that is not in English or Welsh must be submitted with a certified translation.
