Travelling to North Korea on a Thailand passport, you need a visa, arranged before you travel.

There is no ordinary visa application for North Korea; a licensed tour operator handles it instead. Approval comes through the tour company's own channel with North Korean officials, not a consulate near you.

Tours generally start in Beijing, from where the group travels on together into North Korea. None of this changes based on the purpose of the trip; leisure, business or otherwise, the same tour-based process applies.
