North Korea does not run an embassy application process the way most countries do. The operator collects your passport details and submits a group application to North Korean authorities weeks ahead of the trip.

Tours generally start in Beijing, from where the group travels on together into North Korea. None of this changes based on the purpose of the trip; leisure, business or otherwise, the same tour-based process applies.
