Do I need a visa for Canada from Kenya?

What you need to apply

• PassportA copy of the information page of your valid passport, showing the passport number, the issue and expiry dates, your photo, name, and date and place of birth. Each passport needs at least one completely blank page other than the last page.
• Passport-style photographTwo photos meeting the visa photograph specifications, with your name and date of birth written on the back. Not needed if you are giving biometric fingerprints and a photo.
• Completed application formApplication for a Temporary Resident Visa (IMM 5257), plus the Family Information form (IMM 5707) if you are 18 or older.
• Application feeProof of payment showing the amount paid. Pay the biometric fee at the same time and in the same way as the processing fee.
• Travel itineraryDocuments showing the purpose of your travel. The visa office responsible for your region says what it wants to see.
• Proof of sufficient fundsProof that you can support yourself, and anyone travelling with you, while in Canada.
• Proof of residence statusProof of your legal status in your country of residence, if that country is not the one on your passport.
• Civil documentsA photocopy of your marriage licence or certificate, where the visa office for your region asks for it.
• Parental consent for a traveller under 18For a minor travelling alone or with one parent: custody documents, or a letter of authorization signed by both parents or legal guardians naming the adult responsible for the child in Canada.
• Biometrics appointmentFingerprints and a photo, given at a visa application centre.

Requirements vary by visa office, so check the instructions for the country you are applying from. Any document not in English or French needs a translation, plus an affidavit from the translator unless a certified Canadian translator did it.
