What you need to apply
- PassportAn eligible passport, scanned with the Australian ETA app. The ETA is linked to it: if that passport expires or you replace it, the ETA ceases and you have to apply again.
- Passport-style photographA photo of yourself, taken in the app while you apply. A visa is not granted without a live image.
- Application feeThe service charge for using the Australian ETA app, paid in the app. There is no other charge for an ETA.
- Contact detailsA valid email address, and your contact details in Australia.
The application is made in the Australian ETA app, on a phone with a camera, NFC and location services switched on. Apply from outside Australia. Family members cannot be included in your application: everyone needs their own, including anyone listed on your passport.
